Mr Electric

The Background

Established in 1994, Mr. Electric® is a global franchise organisation providing electrical installation, upgrade and repair services to both residential and commercial customers at almost 200 locations worldwide. It is a subsidiary of The Dwyer Group, Inc., the fourth largest franchise operation in the US.

The Challenge

Since the demise of Yellow Pages, the business had struggled to generate high volumes of enquiries cost-effectively and so had become increasingly reliant on a small number of substantial national accounts. In particular, it’s significant investment in local paid search activity had failed to generate enquiries at a commercially viable cost.

Our Solution

We developed a keyword strategy designed to meet the needs of local search, to drive high volumes of enquiries and to maximise invoice values. In addition, local landing pages were developed – covering 110 geographical regions – and optimised for conversion. The average invoice value grew from £75 to £500 within six months, with five out of every six enquiries leading to a sale. Prior to our involvement, conversion had been less than 50%. A significant benefit to the business has been the ability to merchandise the results of the initiative in attracting new franchisees, thereby ensuring that they have a healthy pipeline of new business from day one.

 

The Furniture Restorer

The Background

Founded in 1993, The Furniture Restorer is an independent service that works directly with many types of customer – and also on behalf of the UK’s leading insurers – to restore damaged antique and modern wooden furniture and flooring back to glory after damage has occurred.

The Challenge

The business lost a substantial insurance contract and therefore needed to develop a means of replacing the loss in revenue speedily but cost-effectively.

Our Solution

A keyword strategy was designed specifically to generate traffic from geo-specific searches, together with localised landing pages to maximise both conversion and order value by stressing the personal nature of the service offered. Within three months, our activity was responsible for 48% of the business’s total UK revenue.
